UNTO AGES
UNTO AGES is an Orthodox Christian platform with one single aim: to bring the listener closer to Christ and to be a signpost for His Church. This show delves into topics including, but not limited to, apologetics, philosophy, theology, and personal reflections. These episodes are created by an Orthodox layman and the opinions expressed are his own; they are not dogmatic. As such, the intent of this project is merely to be supplemental material to the authentic spiritual development that takes place within the Orthodox Church, via Her sacraments, priests, holy texts, and prayer. If you find this content to be edifying, be sure to pass it along to someone who may need it. Glory to God for all things!

Christianity stands or falls on one simple question: did Jesus really rise from the dead? How can modern, enlightened people come to believe that someone died and rose again? Is there any evidence for this? In this episode, I tackle what I believe to be one of the most important matters one can investigate: the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.—————REFERENCES:The Case for the Resurrection of Jesus | Gary Habermas & Michael LiconaThe Resurrection of Jesus | Inspiring Philosophy: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1mr9ZTZb3TUYymBPce08oyuhnHLLkR_BPrologue of Orchid (Web): https://www.holyascensionofchrist.org/ochridPrologue of Orchid (Print): https://sebastianpress.org/the-prologue-of-ohrid-lives-of-saints-hymns-reflections-and-homilies-for-every-day-of-the-year/On The Incarnation | St. Athanasius: https://www.newadvent.org/fathers/2802.htmJesus wasn't the only man to be crucified. Some question whether or not the Bible we have today can really be trusted. Who’s to say it hasn’t been corrupted over time? Today, I’ll be discussing various historical facts that will put this worry to rest.—————REFERENCES:The Reliability of the New Testament | Inspiring Philosophy: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1mr9ZTZb3TW70EEo4e2onJ4lq1QYSzrY Hosted on Acast. There are many answers to this question. Some believe it fell from the sky, others say a council made a declaration. In this discussion, I go through the history of the canonization process of the Bible, relying heavily on work from Fr. Stephen De Young. How exactly did we get the Bible? The answer may surprise you.—————REFERENCES:The Whole Counsel of God (Book) | Fr. Stephen De YoungIs the Book of Revelation Canonical in the Orthodox Church? | Fr. From May 27th to June 5th 2024, I was blessed with the opportunity to make a pilgrimage to Mount Athos, one of the holiest places in all of Orthodoxy. This monastic republic is located on a peninsula in Greece. This episode chronicles the stories about my journey, what it was like meeting Athonite monastics, and what lessons I learned from the trip. Undoubtedly, it was one I will never forget. Why did a Baptist such as myself become an Orthodox Christian? In this episode, I walk you through my conversion process. In it, I go step-by-step, addressing each doctrine of Protestantism that I came to reject and why, as well as the issues I had that prevented me from becoming Catholic, finally to the point of accepting Orthodoxy as the fullness of the faith. Thanks for listening and God bless!—————TIMESTAMPS:00:00 Video Intro0:19 Introduction4:40 Protestant Upbringing8:03 Introduction to Orthodoxy12:56 My First Visit to an Orthodox Church15:14 Sola-Fide30:40 Sola-Scriptura38:33 Ecclesiology49:13 Sacraments55:33 Mary & The Saints1:01:48 Liturgy, Priesthood, & Icons1:11:02 Filioque & The Great Schism1:16:38 The Papacy.
